What a pleasure as always to be the Boat Building Academy photographer at the winter launch for the latest graduation of students completing the BBA course in Lyme Regis this week! The weather was absolutely glorious. I was taken out by boat to photograph some of the craft as they sailed, motored and rowed around outside the harbour. Past students joined the celebrations from as far away as Switzerland. A real testament to the BBA. Here are a few of my favourites!

So sad to hear that Pip the dog passed on last week. He was too poorly to carry on and Zillah was so brave to take him to the vets so that he didn’t have to suffer. It was such a privilege to be the photographer for them. These are a few of the photographs of the ‘Day in the Life’ of them both. For the full slideshow please visit: Pip and Zillah

MED Theatre is currently running a young people’s research and performance project called Dartmoor in World War One. What a great afternoon I spent with these guys. We went to a place near Princetown and photographed two of the teen actors on a path that was built by conscientious objectors during the war. It was a path that went nowhere and came from nowhere. Just a random path to be built as a sort of punishment. Here are a few of the pictures.

I’ve been the Boat Building Academy photographer for a little while now and I have my first photographic exhibition in Lyme Regis! It finishes on thursday evening 30th May. Do come along. I’m there from 10am – 5pm at the Malthouse, Town Mill. Here are the pics watermarked that appear in the exhibition. They are all Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta Pearl paper. I am really pleased with the quality of the prints.

Another fantastic day at the Boat Building Academy Lyme Regis winter launch. This is the 5th launch that I have documented. It is such a pleasure to be involved in the christening of these absolutely beautiful and diverse constructions! It was raining when I arrived just before 9am but it soon cleared and developed into one of those glorious winter days with light to die for. My camera got sprayed with champagne and then sea water but seems to be ok.  There was a nice piece about the launch on BBC Spotlight Southwest.

I decided to cycle rather than drive with my camera to photograph the Exeter floods! I cycled up to Cowley Bridge to take photographs of the submerged railway lines and traffic coming through a flooded area from Silverton. It was amazing. People said they’d never seen it this bad before. I then went along the river to Exeter Quay. I was concerned about the poor sheep that seemed to have gotten narrowed down to a small piece of land alongside the river area near St David’s Station.

What with the Dawlish storms + Powderham Castle floods I thought I’d venture out to get some extreme weather photographs. I wasn’t disappointed! It was absolutely exhilarating getting blown by the wild wind! I love the sea when it’s blowing a gale. I went back via Powderham Castle but couldn’t get through due to a very deep puddle. Here are some of the images I rescued after my card corrupted…
